Thanks to its distinctive silver metal flake fiberglass bodywork, Two Wheels called this the Desmo Mark 3 the Ducati Silver Shotgun. It’s one of the rarest desmo singles and it’s quite visually stunning.

The Silver Shotgun featured fiberglass bodywork – the seat, front fender, side covers, and even the tank. As Bonhams put it, “the Silver Shotguns featured Italy’s best, including competition 35mm Marzocchi front forks, Borrani 18-inch alloy rims, a Grimeca 180mm four leading- shoe front brake, rear-set pegs, clip-on handlebars and a white-faced Veglia mechanical competition tachometer.”

This example (VIN: 250GT102846) is a restored example with a New Hampshire title. Per the seller, “it has a complete and beautiful restoration using as many new old stock parts as could be found.” The NOS Veglia speedometer/odometer shows 2 miles on it and the seller says that “there is nothing to apologize for on this fantastic and rare bike.” It was originally sold new in Australia but it’s now in New England after roughly 4-5 owners.
