1971 Rupp Roadster 2

In America, Dual-Sport, Small Displacement by Abhi1 Comment

Post-Listing Update: Despite 14 bids on eBay, this Rupp Roadster did not meet reserve at $1,536.

In 1971, Rupp Manufacturing was flying high. The year prior, owner Mickey Rupp was honored as one of the “Outstanding Young Men of America”, and they had become more than a snowmobile manufacturer – they were also cranking out ATVs, go-karts, and mini-bikes. The Roadster 2 was their top selling mini-bike in 1971.

Buying a Roadster 2 gave you a Tecumseh engine pushing out 4 horsepower, 12″ wheels, and…that’s pretty much it. Hey, it’s a mini bike! This example looks fantastic as it’s been restored. While the seller says that it has been ‘sitting in his man cave for years as a memory of his childhood, he notes that it runs perfectly and looks very clean.
