Post Sale Update: This Alpina sold for $2,766 after 28 bids on eBay, however the winner was a no-show. The bike was relisted for a BIN of $2,700, and it sold at that number.

After the success of the Sherpa T, Bultaco released the Alpina 250, a bike specifically built for enduro riders.

The 244.2c two-stroke single pushed 20 horsepower through a five-speed transmission which was shifted on the right (kick start lever on the left). Top speed was a bit over 72 miles per hour, and the 11″ of ground clearance and 7″ front fork travel meant that you could cover a wide variety of terrain. Bikes like this helped Bultaco win the world trials championship nine times in eleven years, and after three years the Spanish company offered a more powerful 350 variant. This example (VIN: B8505578) is said to be an all-original runner, though it hasn’t been run since the gas was drained from the carb and tank last fall. The seller says that it “would make an easy restoration or great rider” and that it needs nothing but a new owner.
