In 1977, Penton introduced the GS6 (GS = Gelande Sport where Gelande translates to terrain or off-road, 6 = number of speeds in the transmission). It had a similar frame to the MC5 motocross bike but it came with an orange enduro tank, side panels, and a number plate with a headlight.

The forks and shocks were taken care of by Marzocchi, and Penton went to Sun for the rims. Other components included Magura levers/grips, and of course, the KTM motor (available in either 125 or 250cc). 1977 was the last year before Pentons were sold as KTMs.

This example (VIN: 70604531) is said to be in immaculate condition and it features John Penton’s signature (done in 2000). Modifications include a new PowerDynamo ignition, a bottom end that was replaced less than a year ago, and Progressive rear shocks.
