1980 Moto Guzzi “1000Ss”

Post Listing Update: did not meet reserve despite 32 bids up to $6,650 on eBay in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Guzzi fans know that 1000Ss isn’t an official model, hence the quotes. But this is still an interesting custom built out of a variety of Guzzi parts – Tonti G5 frame, California 1,000cc engine, Le Mans bodywork, and a Sprint dustbin fairing.

This example (VIN: 203757) was put together by Motogrotto, and the work doesn’t stop with the big components. The motor is equipped with Dyna electronic ignition and 30mm Dell’orto carbs. Other features include custom made “1000Ss” emblems on the sidecovers, 850T foot pegs, 850 T-3 Police shocks, Tarozzi front fork brace, rebuilt non-linked brakes, stainless steel brake lines, Dunstall mufflers, polished aluminum valve covers with custom brass-knuckle styled engine guards, and Albert stainless steel bar end mirrors. The odometer shows ~26,000 miles, but true mileage is unknown. The speedometer works but the tach is not hooked up as the custom bracket for the fairing gets in the way.

The seller says “it’s not perfect, but it awesome.” Find this “1000Ss” for sale in Easton, Pennsylvania with bidding up to $4,900 and the reserve not yet met here on eBay.
