Post-Listing Update: This MVX250F did not attract any bids at $4,200, even after being relisted.

Two things you don’t expect to see in the world of motorcycles: a 2-stroke V3 engine, and a Honda that’s unreliable. You’ll get both with this Honda MVX250F!

Honda MVX250F - Exhaust

Some consider this bike to be Honda’s first ‘real’ attempt at a 2-stroke sportbike, and it was only available in Japan and a few other countries in close proximity, like New Zealand. The V3 engine had two horizontal cylinders with a vertical cylinder that stuck up between them. Unfortunately, the engine was notoriously unreliable due to failure of the vertical rear cylinder – which caused an engine seizure. This bike was a rare utter failure from Honda, making it even more impressive to see one of these still alive. For more information, head on over to Tanshanomi’s Snap Judgments.

Honda MVX250F - Gauges

This specific Honda MVX250F has just 1,069 miles and looks to be in good shape. I adore the 80s bodywork and the 3 exhaust pipes – the only flaw seems to be the lower decals.
