Post Sale Update: This XN85 sold for $10,000 after 38 bids on eBay in Beaverton, Oregon.

Of all the Japanese turbo wonder bikes of the 80s, Suzuki’s effort was the rarest. Just 1,153 examples of the XN85 Turbo were built, and it had the distinction of being the first production motorcycle with a 16″ front wheel. When paired with the Full Floater rear suspension, that resulted in a machine that Motorcyclist magazine described as such: “Nothing works better in the corners than the Suzuki XN85.

The low-pressure turbo helped the 673cc motor produced 85 horsepower – which is how the bike got its name. If you want more information, check out this retrospective on Cycle World.

The seller of this example (VIN: JS1GP71T9D2100095) calls it a “9.8 out of 10” with the only flaw being a minor scuff on the exhaust. It’s a great listing in that he/she includes several photos and videos, so it’s worth checking out even if you’re not specifically interested in one of these. The seller knew the original owner and it’s been on display for just over a decade in his/her personal collection. Recently the brakes were flushed and the calipers were cleaned, and it got a new AGM battery as well as an oil/filter change.
