Non-cruiser fans are often surprised about the Honda Magna V65 when they learn about it. It didn’t necessarily look all that different from the other cruisers in the market, but it definitely brought something new to the table – serious power. 116 horses of it, in fact, enough for an under 11 second quarter mile on the way to a top speed just shy of 140 miles per hour.

Handling and ride comfort weren’t great, but this bike was all about the engine. Cycle Magazine said the powerplant was “the V65’s best feature” and that riders “will quickly find themselves enchanted by the 1100’s performance.” For more information on the V65 Magna, check out this article from Motorcycle Classics, who call it the first “Power Cruiser” and a future classic.
