11-19 Update: This RZV is back up for sale. I’m in love with those exhaust pipes. Find it in Goleta, California with bidding up to $8,600 (and interestingly, the reserve seems to be met)

Post-Listing Update: Bidding got up to $21,000 but the reserve was not met.

Built as a tribute to the World Championship-winning 0W61 YZR500 works bike that Kenny Roberts rode, the Yamaha RZV500R was the first production bike in the world with a 2-stroke V4 engine. The 499cc engine put out about 60 horsepower and the bike weighed 381 pounds. For more information, check out this write-up on RZ/RD.

Yamaha RZV500R - Left Side

This specific RZV500R is claimed to be like new, thought it has about 2700 miles. It’s also been modified a bit, which may or may not bother you – the front end is off a ’92 FZR1000, and the swingarm is off a Honda Hawk. It has a Marvic front wheel and a Marchesini rear, along with the four stainless steel Lomas pipes.
