Post-Sale Update: After 52 bids on eBay, this Fizzer sold for $6,455.

When it was introduced in 1987, the Yamaha FZR1000 was an instant classic – Cycle World called it Bike of the Decade two years later, no thanks to the overwhelming amount of horsepower.

Yamaha FZR1000 - Rear

This example (VIN: JYA3LK008KA002339) has 13,534 miles and looks fantastic. It’s from the estate of David Molitor, an aerospace engineer and club road racer who was apparently a regular at Willow Springs before they shut down the Motorcycle Club. It was recently dyno’d and it put down 127.8 horsepower at the rear wheel. Goodies include 17″ PM polished aluminum wheels, Dynojet carb kit, K&N air filters, SuperTrapp exhaust, and Yamaha’s factory race kit ignition module.
