1994 Honda Africa Twin

In Dual-Sport, Japan by AbhiLeave a Comment

The Honda Africa Twin is an absolute legend in the dual-sporting community, and American riders were always heartbroken that this beauty never made it to the United States. I almost never see these up for sale in the states, so I’m excited to feature one for you now. How good is this bike? It’s based on the NXR-750, which won Paris-Dakar rally four times. Case closed.

Honda Africa Twin - Front

In 1993, the Africa Twin enjoyed a revision including a new frame, plastics and engine modifications. The engine was tuned for reliability over peak figures, but you still got an easy 60 horsepower and 46 pound feet of torque. These bikes are as reliable as you’ll find, and though fuel economy isn’t stellar (expect to get around 35 mpg), that’s a minor price to pay for a bike that you can take nearly everywhere around the world. Keep up with regular maintenance and keep a spare CDI on the bike, and you should be set forever.

Honda Africa Twin - Right Rear

This specific Honda Africa Twin has over $4,500 in upgrades including a carbon rally kit, crash bars, Remus exhaust, solo seat, and more. Mileage is unknown but the engine has been taken apart and inspected and is claimed to be ‘all good’. It seems that the only thing it really needs is paint. Find this Africa Twin for sale in Frederick, Colorado for $7,500 here on ADVRider (registration required).
