The owner of White Knuckle Motorsports in Springville, Utah has an collection of JDM imports that consistently find their way onto eBay. Today’s feature is a bit more special than most, as the FZR400RR-SP is an impressive little machine.

The Japanese 400cc sportbike class is something that the average American is unfamilar with, but licensing tiers in Japan made for some fierce competition at that displacement limit between manufacturers. That’s why this machine puts out over 60 horsepower and was paired with a close-ratio transmission, solo seat, fully adjustable suspension, flat slide carb, improved intake/exhaust, and some carbon fiber accents.

This rehosted review on Motorcycle Specs sums up the FZR400RR-SP by saying: “It’s very hard to write about the FZR400’s qualities. Braking, acceleration, flexibility, build quality, stability – just think of a cliche and double it. For steering and suspension, think of a cliche and triple it.” Shockingly, the review adds, “even an OW-01 isn’t as well made as the 400 SP,” and that was Yamaha’s halo bike at the time.

This example has 6,354 miles and it’s equipped with an Akrapovic exhaust (stock included) and some aftermarket rearsets. It’s currently titled in Utah. Find this SP for sale in Springville, Utah with a BIN of $8,900 or best offer here on eBay.
