With teasers from Suzuki suggesting a new Katana is on the way, presumably to compete with Kawasaki’s modern classic Z900RS, it seemed appropriate to feature this blast from the past. The Suzuki Katana was a friendlier version of the GSXR-750, with a retuned engine and a seat that should actually be comfortable for a passenger. It fits best into the sports touring category, and within that spectrum of riding it does its job with the kind of efficiency you expect from a Japanese motorcycle.

Iconic Motorbikes describes this 1998 model (VIN: JS1GR78A8V2100072) as completely stock and the pictures show incredible condition for what was generally a workhorse of a machine. Just 1,484 miles are on the clock, somewhat explaining the great condition. According to the listing, it was brought out of storage and treated to new fluids to bring it back to life, however new tires and a full mechanical check are still recommended before you take it to your favorite canyon. Could this Katana make you feel young again before the new one comes out? For more on this generation of the Katana, check out this review from MCN.
