2007 Ducati SportClassic GT1000

In Italy, Standard by AbhiLeave a Comment

Despite the retro styling, the Ducati GT1000 was nearly a decade ahead of its time as it had already been killed off well before all the other OEMs started the current rebirth of retro-styled motorcycles. They’ve turned into cult classics which occasionally have blue book values at or above the original MSRP!

The GT1000 was a modern take on Ducatis older GT bikes, and it was the most comfortable of the SportClassic line. You got 92 horsepower, dual shocks in the rear, and what has to be the most fender gap I’ve ever seen on a motorcycle (pretty much my only complaint with the styling). Cycle World called this one of the best standard used bike buys out there, also noting that there wasn’t much competition because this bike was ahead of its time.

The seller (the guy behind The Bullitt) originally acquired this bike with the intent of turning into a cafe racer but he didn’t “have the heart to do it to such a unmolested example.” There are just a few modifications – smaller front turn signals, aftermarket mirror, the front fender from a Sport 1000, and a Motobox fender eliminator (the original taillight and rear fender are included with the sale). Otherwise, this beauty is stock with 10,800 miles on the odometer.
