Post Listing Update: This Monster did not meet reserve despite 6 bids up to $7,600 on eBay in Columbia, Pennsylvania.

Even though it was basically a parts-bin special, the Monster has become one of Ducati’s most successful motorcycles of all time. In 2006, Ducati went a little crazy with their naked sport bike and stuffed it with a 998 superbike motor, radial-mounted Brembo brakes, and Ohlins suspension. It was the ultimate expression of the Monster – and at that time Monster sales were half of Ducati’s entire portfolio. In 2008, Ducati went a step further with the Tricolore. 400 examples were built, and 250 of those made it to the US.

The S4RS continued the parts-bin nature of the Monster as the motor, Termi exhaust, Brembo P34 brakes and 10-spoke Marchesini wheels all came from Ducati’s flagship superbike at the time. But the “three color” limited edition added the special paint scheme, individualized number plate, and one-off clutch cover. Carbon fiber was also used for the silencer cover, exhaust heat guard, front mudguard, radiator covers, and more.

This example (VIN: ZDM1RB5T68B113951) has 8,843 miles and it’s #218 of the 400. Aftermarket modifications include the windscreen, frame sliders, and brake lever, though the seller will include a new OEM windscreen. There’s also a Termi exhaust.
