Regular readers of this site should also be familiar with Motorcycle Classics, the excellent site/magazine “dedicated to the greatest motorcycles of all time and the people who ride them.” They’ve partnered with Santiago Chopper and Dime City Cycles to give away a custom BMW R90 as part of a Charty Drive for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee …
In Poland – 1983 BMW R65LS Custom
Here’s an interesting custom based on the R65LS – I’d rather have seen the build done on a base R65 (without the sweet Hans Muth-designed fairing), but it’s not like I did any of this work.
5 Miles – 1989 Honda GB500
Post Sale Update: This GB500 sold for $9,500 after 23 bids on eBay. Coming from a seller that has two GB500s is an example of the cult bike with just 5.2 miles on the odometer! Both bikes were purchased by an individual who bought them as an investment – the current seller acquired them from the original owner in April, …

1965 Triumph T120C TT Special
Post-Listing Update: Despite 22 bids up to $12,500, this T120C TT Special did not meet reserve. Between 1963 and 1967 (and only in the United States), Triumph released a series of ready-to-race bikes (dubbed the TT Specials) to the public. Starting with a Bonneville, Triumph stripped away anything non-essential and gave it another 2 horsepower. These are special bikes, but …

Needs Some Work – 1975 Tyran 125 MX
A short-lived enduro from the early 70s, the Tyran 125 MX were more 40% expensive the Japanese competition, but were slower and less reliable. As you might expect, not many people have heard of them since. The engine was a Sachs two-stroke 122cc unit that produced 18 horsepower to move a bike that weighed 190 pounds. For more on the …
Trademark Issue – 1992 Carter Brothers Shortster
Post Listing Update: This Shortster did not meet reserve with bidding up to $242.50. For a very short production run (Harley-Davidson took an objection to the name), Carter Brothers sold a fairly quick mini bike that they called the Shortster. Harley objected because they had actually created a minibike called the Shortster themselves, though that lasted for just one year …
Guess That Bike – British Edition
You know the drill. Who knows what this rare bike is? It’s not really a hint, but I’ll say that it was an absolute commercial flop but it did find some success with public service…
Troy Bayliss Replica – 2009 Ducati 1098R
Post-Listing Update – This Bayliss Replica was relisted several times at lower prices, but the lowest offering of $29,300 was still too much to get it sold. In 2002, Ducati released a Bayliss rep based on the 998S. 7 years later, they did the same (honoring his third and last World Superbike Championship) but with the 1098R, this time limiting …

Running Barn Find – 1937 Ariel RH Racer
You probably wouldn’t guess from the cosmetic state of this bike, but this Ariel Red Hunter racer recently got a new spark plug and some gas and it actually fired up. It’s obviously still going to need plenty of work, but this is a very cool find.
