The Ducati 750 GT is a wonderful bike, but inevitably it seems that any decent ones for sale have been restored. That’s why I’m excited to present this 750 GT, which is in original, unrestored condition. It’s claimed to run like new but the cosmetics show a lovely amount of wear.
Video Intermission – Robbie Maddison’s AIR.CRAFT
Ever since I saw On Any Sunday – The Next Chapter, I’ve been on a bit of a Robbie Maddison kick (which means you’re about to get subjected to more of him). DC Shoes borrowed the Aircraft Boneyard at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, and then let Robbie go wild. Obviously the tricks are great, but the cinematography is fantastic, too. …
1985 Honda V65 Sabre
Post Sale Update: This Sabre sold for $1,676.50 after 22 bids on eBay. The Honda V65 Sabre was built around the 1100cc engine that also powered its cruiser-brother, the Magna. The engine stole the show, as it produced 121 horsepower – capable of pushing the bike up to a “design speed” of 173 miles per hour. However arbitrary that might …
Euro Livery – 2003 Honda RC51 SP2
The RC51 is such an incredible bike – it combines Honda reliability with the joy of a V-Twin engine (my personal favorite) and it beat Ducati at its own game with multiple World Superbike Championships and a AMA Championship.
2000 Moto Guzzi Quota
As a R1150GS owner myself, I’m a big fan of large displacement dual-sports, particularly of the opposite-cylinder variety. This big V-Twin checks all the right boxes for an all-rounder, with the added benefit that you’re going to stand out from the GSes with a bike this rare.
Ending Soon – 1965 Greeves Scottish Trials
Check out that leading-link fork – Greeves used the distinctive suspension on a wide variety of motorcycles, though they’re best known for their off-road bikes. This Scottish trials bike is one of those successful off-road models, featuring a 246cc Villiers 32A engine and Greeves alloy top end. This example is from the last year of Scottish production and was restored …
Born Free Custom – 1964 Harley FL
Built by Atomic Custom, this Harley FL was invited to Born Free 6. As you’d expect, modifications are plentiful. The highlights include Wiseco forged piston in a engine put together with a ’64 bottom end and ’66 top end. It has a Primo belt drive, full inline springer, round spoke Invader wheels, and a hell of a paint job. Find …
2008 BMW HP2 Megamoto
Produced for just 2 years, the BMW HP2 Megamoto is one of the highest performing boxers ever built by the German firm. Only 107 were brought into the United States at a MSRP of $20,520, making them a very rare and unique supermoto from a company that never would have tried anything like this just a few years before.
1967 Triumph TR6C Trophy
Introduced in 1956, the Triumph TR6C Trophy was named to commemorate the British firm’s success in ISDT racing. As the years passed, the TR6C evolved more into a road bike, but it still had the pedigree of an off-roader enjoyed by legends like Steve McQueen.
AHRMA Racer – 1979 Yamaha YZ400
Here’s a cheap Yamaha YZ400 that the seller acquired earlier this year and then built up into a racebike that placed 2nd at this year’s Barber Vintage Festival. It’s got DID rims, Acerbis hand guards, DG pipe with FMF turbincore exhaust and more – the only problem seems to be sticker wear from the seller’s knee braces. Here’s your chance …
1979 Triumph T140D Bonneville Special
Apparently inspired by the Yamaha XS650 Special, the Triumph T140D Bonneville Special was an exercise in styling that also introduced a few features that were incorporated into future Bonnies.
1968 Yamaha DT-1 250
The Yamaha DT-1 250 was an absolute game changer when it was released, as it essentially created and dominated the market in the US. In fact, some argue it’s the most significant motorcycle in Yamaha’s history – the initial production run of 12,000 was instantly scooped up, and competitors immediately rushed out their takes on the cheap, reliable dual-sport.
Snakebit – 1968 Suzuki Cobra
Otherwise known as the T500, the Suzuki Cobra was very short-lived. Sort of. After just one year, Ford told Suzuki that the Cobra name was already accounted for, and that they should figure out another model name for their 500cc two-stroker.
Ending Soon – Yamaha DT Collection
Here’s an instant collection of 3 Yamaha DT bikes – a 125, a 175, and a 360cc. The bikes are in varying conditions, but they all run just fine. The seller does a good job of highlighting the good aspects and known issues – check out the listing for details. Find this collection for sale in Cedar Hill, Texas with …
BikeEXIF Feature – 2003 Ducati 999VX – Venier Customs
Starting with a 999S racebike, Stefano Venier of Venier Customs ditched the plastics and turned it into a naked (and much more elegant) streetbike called the Ducati 999VX.
