Post Listing Update: This 998S did not get any interest at the asking price of $14,999.

2001 was a great year for Ducati. Upgraded Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes squeezed every bit of traction from the revamped 998cc Testastretta engine, carrying Troy Bayliss to the championship. In 2002, Ducati launched 155 998S Ben Bostrom and 400 Troy Bayliss special editions to commemorate the season. Engine output stayed at 130 hp, but carbon fiber fairings and a custom livery set the bikes apart. Numbered triple clamps remind you’re riding something special, just in case you forget what the bike looks like.

The serial number 133/155 Ben Bostrom 998S (VIN: ZDM1RADN09B017155) is available in Miami at Unique Superbikes. How people manage to look at race replicas without riding them is beyond me, but just 5,875 miles are on the clock. The carbon fairings and blue Marchesini wheels still look amazing, and the Fast by Feracci exhaust probably sounds just as mean. The listing is sparse beyond photos and the dealer’s phone number, so a phone call is recommended for more history. Were you watching the when Troy Bayliss brought home the hardware?
