Bought by Dan Gurney – 1975 Honda XL175

Honda’s XL175 wasn’t particularly special – but this example is slightly more interesting than usual as it was purchased by Dan Gurney (RIP) and his company, All American Racers. To be frank, that’s pretty much where the celebrity relationship ends – Gurney gave it to one of his engine builders in 1979 and he never used it. It sat until he passed away in 2014, and the current seller acquired this bike from the estate sale. What’s it worth to have Dan Gurney’s signature on a pink slip? Let’s find out.

This example has only 1,085 miles on the odometer, and it’s in adequate shape. After the seller bought this bike he had the engine resealed as it was leaking. The value presumably comes from the connection with AAR, and the seller is including some association memorabilia even if it doesn’t really have anything to do with the bike itself.
