Every Sunday, my colleagues at Iconic Motorbikes go for a morning ride out to the Rock Store. Sometimes I join along – here’s a few highlights from today’s excursion!
Video Intermission – Makoto Endo Paints the Suzuki Katana
The 2020 Suzuki Katana is on the cover of the new issue of Cycle World – but the cover image isn’t the usual photograph of a bike in motion. This time around, it’s a painting that was done with disposable chopsticks!
Video Intermission – 1992 Honda Monkey Baja with Africa Kit
We’ve just listed an awesome limited edition of Honda’s venerable Monkey on the auction site – but I had to take it for a spin myself. Come take a ride with me on the Honda Monkey Baja with the rare Africa Kit!
Video Intermission – Allen Millyard’s Kawasaki Z1 “Super Six”
It lives! Some of you may already be aware of Allen Millyard’s latest project – if not, he’s been busy turning a 4-cylinder Kawasaki Z1 into a 6-cylinder Kawasaki Z1 that he’s calling the “Super Six.” He’ also been documenting most of his work on YouTube, and he’s just shared his first test ride…
Video Intermission – Bike-urious Goes to the Kawasaki Z H2 Launch
Back in February, Cycle News sent me to Las Vegas for the launch of the Kawasaki Z H2 – did you catch my story? In between the socializing and the working, I tried to capture some of the behind the scenes to share with you – hope you enjoy!

We have a couple of bikes going up on the auction site this week that we needed some more photos of, so I put the keyboard away for a morning and got some quality time on a motorcycle this Sunday morning. Here’s how it went!
Giveaway Intermission – 3x Mick Doohan Posters
Another week, another giveaway on the auction site! Last week we gave away a wonderful Nicky Hayden print, but this time we’re going three times as big with some Mick Doohan posters! I don’t think it was crystal clear last time so I’ll emphasize it here: YOU CAN ONLY WIN IF YOU LEAVE A COMMENT ON THE AUCTION SITE Here’s …
Picture Intermission – Lambretta Club in Madrid
When Vy and I stopped in Madrid on our Iberian trip, we encountered a Lambretta club in our hotel. Want to see what they were riding?
Picture Intermission – E Hayes and Sons Limited Motoworks Collection
There are a few Corvair-powered motorcycles out there, including this one I featured back in 2015. Better-known examples include Norm Grabowski’s Six Pack, Tom McMullen’s Corvair Trike, and Wild Bill Gelbke’s Grasshopper. But the one featured here looks like it’d be the most road-friendly and it’s currently located at the E Hayes and Sons Limited Motoworks Collection.
Gift Intermission – Lego Technic Ducati Panigale V4R
Because we’re staying at home so much, Vy and I have been watching more TV than usual. Our current fascination is Lego Masters, which is why this Panigale model is calling out to me right now.
Giveaway Intermission – “Nick Hayden World Champion 2006” Artwork
Over on the auction site, we’re giving away a limited edition canvas print (1 of 69) based on a pencil/watercolor illustration of Nicky Hayden from his 2006 championship year in MotoGP. Just leave a comment on the listing to be entered – we’ll pick a winner on Saturday!

Now they’re giving away an impressively-modified KTM 790 Adventure R to someone who donates to the cause.
Audio Intermission – Indian Motorcycle Community Playlist Vol. 1
Earlier this week, Indian asked its fans on social media about music – specifically, what they listened to while riding or wrenching. Here’s the first set of 25 songs, consolidated in a Spotify playlist for 1 hour and 36 minutes of audio bliss.
Video Intermission – Repairing Fonzie’s 1952 Triumph TR5
One of the three bikes used by Arthur Fonzarelli in Happy Days has been on display at Hagerty’s headquarters in Traverse City, Michigan for a year now, but it wasn’t in running condition…until now.
