I’ve featured a few BSA Weslake powered bikes that utilized a Rickman frame, but here’s a bike that trumps them in rarity. Here’s a bike that was apparently one of four built by Richard Barnes in 1971 – one of which was for James Garner to run the Baja 1000 with.
Gentleman 39 – Harley-Davidson Custom
In 2009, Shaw Harley-Davidson in Brighton, England decided to create an offshoot called Shaw Speed & Custom. Their body of work is impressive – they’ve won several custom bike awards including 1st place in the Modified Harley-Davidson class at the AMD World Championship. Here’s one of their custom builds, called the Gentleman 39.
Movie Hero – Jurassic World Triumph Scrambler
Have you seen Jurassic World yet? If so, you noticed the Triumph Scrambler that was used in several shots. Triumph provided 3 bikes for the shoot – and now one is for sale.

View Post1965 Triumph TR6SC
Offered by one of the owners of The Classic Bike Experience in Essex, Vermont, this Triumph TR6SC is one of just 346 sold in 1965 (and just 656 produced in total). Consider it a follow-up to yesterday’s TR6SR.
1966 Triumph TR6SR
In ’66, Triumph was making several versions of the TR6 Trophy – this was the SR, considered to be a ‘high-performance roadster’. What did that mean? This bike got raised handlebars and a smaller fuel tank.
1953 Norton Dominator Model 88

Rebirth – 1988 Harris Matchless G80
Regular readers of this site should be familiar with the Matchless G80, the classic British single which was built between 1946 and 1966. What you may not be familiar with is the Harris G80, a ‘new Matchless G80’ developed by Les Harris after he decided to stop making Bonnevilles under license.
1965 Matchless G12 CSR
With the acronym CSR (which stood for Competition/Sprung/Roadster), the G12 CSR was a high performance bike thanks to upgraded cams and higher compression. Here’s an example that’s apparently been ‘fully restored to original factory specifications’.

View Post1969 BSA Rocket 3
Sharing its roots with the Triumph Trident, the BSA Rocket 3 was a 750cc triple that was designed to extend the model line beyond 650 twins. It was specifically built for the US market, which wanted larger displacements and less vibrations. BSA’s financials suffered with the production of this bike, but nearly 27,500 of the Trident/Rocket 3’s were produced between …
1975 Kawasaki Rickman CR900
Post Listing Update: This Rickman did not meet reserve despite 39 bids up to $25,000. There’s a lot to like about this early Rickman kit. It’s powered by the engine from a Z1 that was rebuilt at 1,105cc with 10:1 compression ratio, with a claimed 125 horsepower at the rear wheel. It’s got all of the invoices and paperwork going …
<500 Miles - 1970 Velocette Thruxton
In 1961, the Velocette Venom set a 24 hour speed record (which still stands for a 500cc bike – read all about it here on The Vintagent). 3 years later, the Venom won its class at Thruxton’s 500 mile endurance race. The next year, the Venom gained the Thruxton name and lots of goodies like a twin-leading shoe brake, giant …
