Reminisicent of Super Single racers from back in the day, this Aprilia RS250 is actually powered by the 450cc parallel-twin V-Twin engine from Aprilia’s SXV450.
2018 Walt Siegl Leggero
A few years ago, Walt Siegl started building a limited run of custom motorcycles based on Ducati 900cc 2V engines – the idea was that by making a limited run, he could lower the cost a little bit, giving more people the chance to afford one. He called these bikes the Leggero series.
1980 Moto Guzzi Le Mans CX100 Custom
Over on the auction site we’ve got a lovely take on one of Moto Guzzi’s ugly ducklings – the CX100. In the states, however, not even that was enough. To satisfy the American mantra of “no replacement for displacement” and to compete with the BMW R100RS, Guzzi took the 1000cc engine and lower fairings from the 1000SP sport tourer and …
2004 Moto Guzzi Breva
Originally available as a 750, the Breva was given a bigger engine just as Moto Guzzi got an infusion of cash from Piaggio. The Breva was designed to be a modern naked tourer, and with the 1100 engine you could expect 72 horsepower at the rear wheel and 56 pound feet of torque.
1970 MV Agusta 250B
The “B” stands for “Bicylindrico”, as this MV Agusta utilizes a 250cc four-stroke twin cylinder motor.
1987 Moto Morini Camel 501
The Moto Morini Camel was an incredibly rare dual sport built to capitalize on the dual sport craze that flared up as the Paris-Dakar rally got popular. The Camel featured a 500cc V-Twin – its little brother, the Kanguro, got a 350cc engine.
1994 Benelli Devil 80
Here’s a little Italian I’ve never heard of, let alone seen: a Benelli Devil!
Interesting History – 2002 Ducati 998 With 513 Miles
In 2001, Pauline Hailwood (widow of the great Mike Hailwood) sued Ducati over the use of her late husband’s name for the MH900e. What does that have to do with a 2002 Ducati 998? Well, the current owner represented the estate during the proceedings and received this 998 directly from Ducati! He rode it for all of 513 miles over …
1977 Benelli 900 Sei Race Bike
I have a policy here that I only share bikes with public asking prices, but the photos of this bike with the bodywork off are worth breaking my rule for.
2005 MV Agusta F4 1000
the MV Agusta F4 is already a classic – here’s a low mile example from the first year of production (for the 1000).
1990 Moto Morini Dart 400
When the Dart was introduced, Moto Morini was owned by Cagiva – at the time the latter had no mid-sized bike in their model range. They decided to remedy that by taking the frame of their Freccia 125, and then shoving in a Morini 350cc V-Twin. It’s a little odd to see an air-cooled engine surrounded in plastic, but hey, …
Video Intermission – Moto Guzzi Stelvio Review
I recently shared my written thoughts about the Moto Guzzi Stelvio for RevZilla, but if you’re more of a visual learner I’ve now got a video with my thoughts right after riding the bike!
1995 Bimota YB9SR
In 1990, Bimota created the YB9 Bellaria – a 600cc-powered (from the Yamaha FZR600) sportbike that was their first two-seater. A couple of years later, Yamaha built a new motor for their upcoming YZF600, and Bimota utilized it to create a new model: the YB9SR. The YB9SR was not officially sold in the US, though in a review for Cycle …
2024 Aprilia Trofeo 660
Aprilia’s slogan is “Be A Racer”, and they’ve shown over the years that it’s more than just words. Their RS660 currently competes in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup, and for riders who really want to go crazy at that displacement the Italian firm offers a track-only version of the RS660 called the Trofeo. Aprilia is bringing just 28 examples to the …
1965 Montgomery Wards Riverside 450SS
Post Sale Update: This MW sold for a best offer under $1,100 (eBay does not confirm the final number). Despite the “450” name, this bike (a rebadged Benelli Fireball sold out of Montgomery Wards stores) has a 49cc engine. Maybe the name translates to “4” – number of gears in the transmission and “50” – displacement?
