Here’s a first year model of the Ninja ZX-11, a bike that held the title of fastest production motorcycle until 1995 (beaten by the Honda Super Blackbird). With just 8,029 miles and a few choice upgrades, this is a fine example of the breed.
Spirit of America – 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000
Post Sale Update: This rare KZ sold for the unorthodox BIN figure of $11,111. In 1978, Kawasaki was the only Japanese manufacturer with a facility in the US. Kawi’s president (Dave Mehney) and Marketing Vice President (Dick Terrell) decided to highlight that with an “All-American Ride-away” – a program where Kawi customized 200 of their KZ1000s with an American paint …
1980 Honda CB125S with Rickshaw Sidecar
Starting with a Honda CB125S that was sold new in Salt Lake City, someone imported a period sidecar from the Philippines to form one heck of a (slow) attention getter.
622 Miles – 1999 Suzuki DR350
Introduced in 1990, the DR350 was a basic dual-sport (kick start only for the first four years) that served recreational trail duties well. It wasn’t a game changer (though Moto-USA called it a Memorable Motorcycle) and it’s normally not a feature-worthy bike on this site…but this example has just 622 miles.

View PostPick One – Well Prepped Mid Size Dual Sports
I love when people go a little crazy with their dual sport builds. Here’s a BMW F650GS Dakar and a Kawasaki KLR650 that have both been well-prepped for about the same money – which would you pick?
1982 Suzuki RGB500
Suzuki’s RG500 was a celebration of 7 consecutive constructor’s titles in the 500cc class. The twin-crank, rotary valve rocket epitomized what we all love about two-strokes, particularly power and noise on the pipe. But the Suzuki RGB500 was the bigger, badder brother – closer to Suzuki’s race effort than you might imagine.
Needs Some Work – 1964 Meguro 250 SG
Founded in 1937, Meguro was one of Japan’s first motorcycle manufacturers. They eventually became part of Kawasaki, but not before they helped legitimize the Japanese motorcycle industry.
Japan Only – 1989 Honda NSR250 MC18
Post Sale Update: This NSR250 sold for $4,950 after 34 bids on eBay. The MC18 generation of the iconic Honda NSR250R was an all new design available either in “Fighting Red” or the “Terra Blue” that you see in front of you. Limited to 45 horsepower to follow Japan’s licensing laws of the time, the bike could easily be delimited …

Also known as the Bonanza, the Yamaha YCS-1 was a lovely small-displacement 2-stroker that was also available in a scrambler variant.

View Post2004 Honda Dream 50R
The Honda Dream 50R, in addition to being the ultimate 50cc cafe racer, was a limited edition model released to commemorate Honda’s early racing history. Unfortunately, it’s not road legal – but it’s one of the coolest production motorcycles to ever roll off the line.
