Introduced in 1974, the YZ125 is still in production (and has won 5 AMA National MX championships over the years). In the first year of production, the bike had dual shocks, but Yamaha quickly switched to a monoshock design. Here’s one of the early models that was given a full restoration and has not been ridden since.
Custom Dommie – Andrew Greenland Honda NX650
I have a huge soft spot for the Honda Dominator (known as the NX650 in the US), as it was the bike I used to learn how to ride in the dirt, and it was the first bike I actually sold through this site. In the last couple of years, the Dommie has become a popular platform for customization, and …
Brand New – 1989 Honda TRX250R
I haven’t featured a quad in about two years, but here’s something you won’t see every day – a 26 year old Honda that’s been started once.
Silver Wing – 1983 Honda GL650 Interstate
When it was first released, the Honda GL500 basically sat in a class by itself – a full dress, middleweight tourer. Hell, I can’t think of something similar that’s available now – can you? In general, press and riders liked the bike but thought it was underpowered. So Honda responded by throwing in the engine from the CX650, making the …
Bumblebee – 1983 Honda Nighthawk 550
Alright, this is a bit of a joke post, but I figured you had to see this custom bike that was inspired by Bumblebee from he Transformers movie. That’s all I can really say about it.
1987 Honda Hurricane 1000
The Honda Hurricane, besides having one of the greatest names in motorcycling history, was an excellent sport-tourer that introduced some crucial technology into the Honda lineup. It eventually evolved into the well-known Blackbird.
Beezasaki – 1969 Kawasaki W2 Commander
The bigger brother of the W1 (a name which Kawasaki would eventually bring back), the Kawasaki W2 650SS was also known as the Commander. Just 639 were sold, and this one has been turned into a cafe racer that the seller calls a Beezasaki (presumably due to the BSA gas tank).
Tiny Racer – 1969 Suzuki Stinger
View Post1975 Kawasaki Z1
Before Honda released the instant classic CB750, Kawasaki was also working on a a four-cylinder, 750cc sportbike – except Kawi thought it was going to be first to market. They were thus shocked when Honda released the CB750, forcing them to go back to the drawing board until they could bump up displacement to 903cc. When Kawi was developing the …
1994 Honda RVF750 RC45
Post Listing Update: After 24 bids on eBay, bidding did not meet reserve at $21,500. After having ‘tested the market’, the seller then relisted the bike several times with an asking price of $22,500 and got no interest. The last relisting was another auction that got up to $18,277 before the listing was ended because ‘the bike is no longer …
Cheapest I’ve Seen – 1982 Yamaha Seca 650 Turbo
There isn’t much information on this specific bike, but it’s by far the cheapest Seca Turbo I’ve seen for sale.
1982 Yamaha Seca XJ550
It would be easy to assume that the engine in the XJ550 was just a destroked 650, but that ain’t fair. It was almost an all-new design, with a 6-speed transmission, chain final drive, and a new cylinder head with Yamaha’s YICS system that enabled 50+ mpg fuel consumption. It was a solid mid-sized motorcycle with a love it or …

Thanks to a repaint and thousands of dollars worth of extras, this MC21 NSR250SP looks absolutely gorgeous.
Nice Price – 1982 Honda Ascot VT500
Named after Ascot Park, a former flat-track raceway in Los Angeles, the Honda Ascot (also known as the VT500) was a V-Twin standard that was styled after flat-track bikes. I used to think the front headlight looked silly, and in the process I unfairly over-looked the Ascot. It didn’t sell well, but owners are passionate about this bike – an …
