Let’s mix it up with a nifty collectible that’ll pair perfectly with your classic Honda. In 1985, Honda motorcycles tried a national Open House to show off their new lineup of motorcycles and 3/4 wheel ATVs. They also had a $2 million giveaway, which included Sony Watchmans branded with “Honda / Follow the Leader”.
1958 BSA Golden Flash
Despite the name, the Golden Flash (named for the “Polychromatic Golden Beige” scheme) was only available in black for home-market British customers. Thankfully, this export model has no such problem.
In Croatia – 1971 Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone Racer
You’ve got to love race bikes that started off as unexpected platforms. A military-spec “New Falcon” is a good start.
Needs Some Work – 1950 Monet & Goyon S3GD
A French manufacturer from 1917 to 1959, Monet & Goyon started by building carriages for disabled WWI vets. They built their first motorcycle in 1922, and they enjoyed some racing success in the Bol D’or. Here’s an example of the 100cc S3GD that will need some work.
Motorcycle Classics Feature – 1974 BMW R90/6 Custom
In 2013, Motorcycle Classics and Dairyland Insurance teamed up for the “Race to Rebuild Sweepstakes“, where they customized a BMW R90/6 with a whole bunch of goodies and then gave it away to a lucky man…who’s now selling the custom.
1960s Ice Skeeter Model 100
Allow me to momentarily turn into “Ice Vehicle-urious” – that name does not work at all. Built between 1960 and 1964 by Northern Manufacturing Company in Oak Harbor, Ohio, the Ice Skeeter was marketed as a ‘brand new winter sport’ that let you ‘skim over ice and packed snow.’
Swiss Army Knife – 1992 BMW R100GS
The BMW GS series (and frankly, other large enduros) has been called the “Swiss Army Knife” of bikes by a variety of journalists, but the original owner of this bike has taken it to another level with Swiss Army logos, the red repaint, and even a Victorinox logo!
$400,000 – 1984 Bimota SB4S Custom
Yes, that’s $400,000. And that’s the (obviously unmet) opening bid!
CSR? 1965 Matchless G80 Rhodesian Police
When it comes to the Matchless brand, the CSR acronym is typically associated with the G12. But the seller of this G80 claims to have 1 of 20 G80 GSRs built as a special order for the Rhodesian High Commission for their police force. I can’t find any independent verification of this and the reader who submitted this to me …

10-29 Update: This rarity is back up for sale – looks like the seller will either have to lower the price or get lucky and find the rare buyer who’s been specifically looking for a Black Dream. If you’re that buyer, find this bike for sale here on Craigslist for $9,500 in Torrance, California. 1-8-2015 Update: This TM Black Dream …
1 of 750 – 1970 Norton Mercury
Introduced in October 1968 (and produced only until February of 1970), the Norton Mercury was considered by some to be a ‘parts bin’ bike when it was released. History has been a bit kinder to it – only about 750 were ever sold and it was the last of the Dominator twins.
1989 Yamaha TZR250 3MA
Loosely based on Yamaha’s TZ250 racer, the TZR was a 2 stroke sportbike built between ’86 and ’99 – in 1986 it was the first production 250cc motorcycle to lap Isle of Man’s TT course at over 100 miles per hour.
1982 Honda Motocompo
Post Sale Update: This Motocompo sold for $3,400 after 21 bids on eBay. Yes, I just featured a Motocompo, but cut me some slack – these things are cool and they so rarely come up for sale!
1966 Moto Morini Corsaro 125
One of the many 125cc bikes produced by Italy in the 60s, the Corsaro was available in a Sport (Veloce) as well as a scrambler variant.
$1,800 – 1980 BMW R100RT
If Saturday’s R100 Scrambler left you cold, here’s your chance for a cheap base bike – maybe you’ll be inspired to try and make your scrambler custom?
