It’s become a bit of a routine here on Bike-urious – I feature a R90S and the comments either say some variant of “amazing” or “overrated”. Let’s see what the verdict is this time! No matter what you think about the R90S nowadays, you can’t deny that it won the inaugural AMA Superbike Championship and it changed public perceptions about what a BMW could be like. The model was introduced in 1974 in Smoke Silver, the instant classic BMW was offered in Daytona Orange a year later. Each color has passionate fans who might argue that their color is faster, but the official top speed is 125 mph.

This example was imported to Canada from Illinois four years ago, and the current seller acquired it soon after. He’s sent me a lot of information about the bike and everything sounds quite positive. He also sent over a couple of videos that an interested buyer would appreciate:

This numbers matching R90S shows 47,879 miles on the odometer and it is claimed to be in very good condition. There’s minimal wear in “some locations”, but it looks great for a semi-untouched survivor. The seller notes that the gas tank, filler, and front fender cap have been repainted, but the rest of the visual joy is simply due to a good detail.

The seller requires a deposit of $500 and the balance within 72 hours. The bike is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and the asking price is $16,000 USD. You can reach the seller directly: mo AT rocketship DOT com. Good luck!
