It seems appropriate to continue sharing cool bikes from the Deeley Exhibition in Vancouver with Canada’s first motorcycle – the CCM Lightweight De Luxe!
Most people know CCM nowadays as they make world-class hockey equipment, but the brand actually started out as Canada Cycle and Motor.
It was created when Canada’s four biggest bicycle manufacturers merged together (comprising 85% of the market), and in 1905 CCM started building hockey skates out of scrap steel when the bicycle market got saturated. But back to bikes:

According to the museum, this creation paired a CCM frame with a 214cc clip-on engine by De Dion.

Check out the wooden rims. The only brake was a band on the rear.

Fillers for oil and gas (or should I say, benzine and petrole).

Fun Fact: Canada Post featured this exact bike in June 2013 as part of a special stamp set “commemorating early Canadian motorcycle manufacturing and design.” They made 1,920,000 of them!
