Post Listing Update: 24 bids got the price up to $81,700 – but this wasn’t enough to meet reserve.
For the first time in 35 years, this Black Shadow is up for sale. It’s been in storage since 1981 but the seller says it’s unrestored and runs “quite well.” The seller also says it’s a “wonderful candidate for restoration or preservation” – I sure hope the next owner decides to keep it as is, cosmetically.
The original owner of this bike was apparently someone who did a lot of road racing in Europe, competing on some factory GP bikes in the 60s and in the Isle of Mann. The odometer shows 4,638 but the seller can’t guarantee it’s the actual mileage. What would you do if you had the money – keep it as is or restore it to like new?
