I’m still trying to figure out how this bike came to the United States, because Honda never imported them here. But the Varadero has been around since 1999, steadily plugging along as an adventure bike with the heart from a Superhawk.
That means you got a 996cc V-Twin engine which produced 93 horsepower and 72 pound-feet of torque. Gearing was obviously different in this bike than in the ‘SuperChicken’, so top speed was about 125mph, not that anyone really cares what top speed is for an adventure bike. For more information on the Varadero, check out this review from Visordown, who suggest that it was an underrated all-arounder.
This example was bought new in the UK with a long list of factory upgrades including the factory panniers and top box, center stand, crash guards, tall windshield, and shop manual. It has just 3,455 miles on it and it comes with an Illinois title. The seller says that it “runs perfect, all functions operate normally. The bile has been stored in a climate-controlled environment, fully covered at my house all of its life. I run it every summer and winterized with stable and run before storage in the fall.”
Find this Varadero for sale in Palos Park, Illinois with a healthy asking price of $14,900 here on Facebook Marketplace.
