“Hot KLR” – 1995 Kawasaki KLR650 Supermoto

Post-Sale Update: This KLR sold for $4,200 after 12 bids on eBay.

If you take the seller’s story at face value, it seems that some employees at White Brothers Exhaust decided to get a little crazy and build a tricked-out supermoto based on the KLR. After Vance & Hines bought White Brothers, this project stalled, so the seller picked it up and finished it.

There’s an impressive amount of modifications here, including a 799cc big bore kit from Shnitz Racing, the front forks from a Honda CRF450R, Rick Mayer seat, Talon hubs/Excel wheels, and more. The seller also says that the bike has a wide ratio transmission from some sort of police edition, but as far as I’m aware, that’s not a thing. Some police departments have definitely used the KLR, but I’m not aware of an official model from Kawi, especially one with different gearing. Someone out there know otherwise?

This specific KLR supermoto (VIN: jkaklea12sa032444) looks like it’d be a blast, and I’d love to see a dyno chart for it. It ain’t pretty, but I doubt you’d care as you’re grinning from ear to ear while constantly hopping curbs and wheelie-ing around town…
