Post-Listing Update: Despite bidding up to $40,100 on eBay, this Egli-Vincent did not meet reserve.

Fritz Egli is a former Swiss motorcycle racer who made a tremendous name for himself by building custom frames out of his speed shop. One of his first creations was a Vincent Black Shadow that won a hill climbing championship, and he’s still cranking out frames for bikes like the Yamaha V-Max. In the 60s, Egli had become so successful with his frame for the Vincent that he had no less than 6 other companies copying his design! In 1968 he named Roger Slater of the Slater Brothers as the official Egli importer of the United Kingdom. Three years later, Slater started sourcing frames from Eric Cheney in an attempt to become independent.

This example features VIN #78 and it offers a Series B engine and the speedometer from a Black Shadow. It looks fantastic but the rear subframe has unfortunately been shortened. This bike is being offered by a seller than often has great bikes but typically has very little to say about them, and this listing is no different.
