Luftmeister Turbo – 1985 BMW K100RT

From one angle, this is just a very ugly BMW K100RT in Big Bird Yellow. But if you look up at the front of the engine, you’ll notice one of the 200 turbo kits that were produced by RB Racing on behalf of Luftmeister. Now it’s ugly AND fast!

RB claims that at one point (with a much more aggressive kit) they were able to get 309 horsepower from the K100 motor which was good for 206 miles per hour at an SCTA El Mirage meet. It’s unclear exactly how much power this example is putting down but RB claims that they’ve seen 180 hp from their early K100 kits on street gas. RB Racing has a very interesting story – we highly recommend checking out their website for some laughs.

This example has 13,000 miles and the seller says it’s recently been “gone through from front to back” with a rebuilt IHI turbocharger, Progressive fork springs, stainless steel brake lines, rebuilt WOrks shock, rebuilt forks, new windscreen (the seller says it’s from MRI, I assume he/she means MRA), Corbin seat, K&N air filter, Luftmeister exhaust, the OEM luggage, ceramic coated headers, fairing extenders, and a recent service (1,000 miles ago) with new Bridgestone Battlax tires, a valve adjustment, fuel pump, fuel filter, battery, oil/water pump, and more.

Find this K100RT (the T does not stand for Turbo) for sale in Tacoma, Washington for $7,500 here on Craigslist.
