Post Sale Update: This custom Gixxer “sold” for the BIN of $7,500, however it was later relisted at a lower BIN of $6,500 and then pulled off of eBay.
Back in 2016, the design director of Icon Motosports created an interesting custom based on the 750 Gixxer. It was named “Major Tom”, and now it’s up for sale.
The modifications are comprehensive, but highlights include a Yoshimura exhaust, disc wheels from a 1st gen Harley V-ROD, the front end from a Kawasaki ZX-7R, and…a nitrous kit hidden under the seat.
Icon released one of the all-too-common videos nowadays that are interesting stylistically but don’t make much sense to show off this build when it was created three years ago. With that said, the riding skill is impressive when it comes to this street bike in the dirt:
The seller of this example (VIN: JS1GR75A2G2101435) calls it a custom/show bike that you can ride and enjoy. He says that he acquired it from the builder, and it needs new fork seals. He also notes that he’s never used the nitrous and can’t confirm if it works. Hopefully the next owner gives it a shot.
