I got to celebrate in Australia a bit yesterday as we had a notable sale on our auction site yesterday – Scott Russell’s 1993 World Superbike! Scott is also having us sell some of his helmets/leathers, and right now we’ve got one of his suits from his 1996 GP season with Lucky Strike Suzuki. It’s being sold with No Reserve, so some lucky (and wealthy) fellow is about to get a great piece of American motorcycling history!
Scott Russell has long been a fan favorite – especially after his incredible comeback victory at Daytona in 1995.
In addition to his storied WSBK career, Mr. Daytona spent two years in MotoGP with Lucky Strike Suzuki racing 500cc two-strokes.
In the 1996 season, Russell piloted an RGV500 for Lucky Strike Suzuki racing where he placed 6th overall after competing in 13 races and securing two podiums. The leathers for sale here were used in that very season.
