No Reserve – 2017 Benelli TnT 600 Tornado

Post Sale Update: This Benelli originally sold for $3,550 after 25 bids on eBay. HOWEVER, it seems that the buyer flaked (or maybe the buyer was trying to artificially inflate the price) as the bike was relisted, selling for $2,550 after 10 bids on eBay.

Benelli has a long and illustrious history, but as of late it hasn’t been much more than an Italian name used to try to add brand equity to some Chinese-made two-wheelers. I will say that the recent TnT 135 and TnT 300 have received positive reviews, though this 600 doesn’t seem to offer any advantages compared to the competition. With that said, you’re not going to encounter another one at bike night.

For more on the mid-sized TnT, check out this review from Motorcycle.com. They say it’s in a “class of one”, just because every other ~600cc naked competitor uses two cylinders in parallel or V-shaped layouts. They also say it’s heavy and has mediocre suspension/braking. It seems that this is destined for riders who want distinctive styling and a Benelli logo on the tank.

This example (VIN: LBBPHJ014HB000924) hast just 10 miles on the odometer, and I’d love to ask the seller (a cop car refurbisher) how they got this bike and why it’s basically unused. It’s said to be flawless and the sale includes the owner’s manual and multiple keys. The attraction here is presumably the low price, so let’s see what it ends up selling for.
