I will concede that BMW K75 is not the sexiest motorcycle that’s ever been built – I remember that the editors of Motorcyclist once called it “the two-wheel equivalent of Birkenstocks.” With that said, I have a soft spot in my heart for these bikes, which I consider to be some of the most reliable motorcycles ever built (and there’s …

View PostThe Titan – 1973 Suzuki T500
Post Listing Update: This bike was pulled off of eBay because there was an “error in the listing.” One of the all time greats in classic Japanese motorcycle history, the Suzuki T500 showed the world that a big displacement 2-stroker didn’t have to overheat. It was considered one of the most reliable motorcycles built in the 60s, but it always …
One Year Only – 2008 Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport x2
Earlier this week, I featured a Guzzi V11 Sport. Though Guzzi still sells a 1200 Sport in other markets, the US only got it for one year, making it hard to find out here. With that said, today I’ve got two options for you, so enjoy.
1927 BMW R42
Post-Listing Update: This R42 did not meet reserve with bidding up to $32,756 on eBay. Packing a 494cc boxer twin that put out 12 horsepower, the BMW R42 was introduced in 1926, 3 years later after the R32 (the granddaddy of BMW boxers). The R42 got a bigger engine, stronger frame, and better brakes, but it was only sold for …
1997 Triumph Sprint 900
A half-faired, more comfortable brother of the Speed Triple, the Triumph Sprint 900 was a competent (if top-heavy) sports-tourer motivated by Triumph’s wonderful triple. The engine produced 98 horsepower and 61.2 pound feet of torque, good for a top speed of 140 miles per hour (though the speedo goes all the way to 200 for some insane reason). For more …
$3,800 – 1972 BSA Thunderbolt
BSA is probably best known for their Lightning, but they also had a touring complement known as the BSA Thunderbolt.
Triumph T120 Chopper
I was on my way to meet some friends to watch the Clippers game on Tuesday when I randomly noticed a store called Heroes Motorcycles on La Brea. I pulled over to check it out and was blown away by the bikes they’ve got in there – this is going to be a very interesting spot once they’re done building …

View Post5,941 Miles – 1979 Honda CBX
Here’s a beautiful, low-mileage example of Honda’s first 6-cylinder production bike, this CBX looks basically new in Candy Glory Red. The glorious exhaust shows no rust, and it comes with the cover, shop manual, and parts catalog. The only flaw seems to be slight chrome pitting/a small ding on the left muffler and a touched-up scratch on the front fender.
Restored – 1958 Pannonia TL250F
I love the black/red combo of this Pannonia TL250F, which has been “fully restored” (though it is missing the tank emblem and pinstriping).

View PostCafe Racer TV Giveaway – 2010 Triumph Bonneville
Built as a door prize for when Discovery HD Theater was rebranded to Velocity, this Bonnie was modified in about 4 hours, losing approximately 40 pounds in the process. The build was ‘documented’ by the builders – Cafe Racer TV.
1970 Royal Enfield Interceptor
In addition to having the classiest name in motorcycling history, the Royal Enfield Interceptor featured a tuned version of RE’s biggest engine at the time.
OCC V-Twin Turbo Sportbike
Here’s something I never thought I’d see – Orange County Choppers building a superbike…sort of. Covered as part of the show American Choppers, a team that normally builds custom choppers came together to build a frankenbike of sorts. It looked like a stretched Yamaha R1, but was powered by a turbocharged V-Twin and was complemented by Brembo brakes, BST wheels, …
