Pichler Fairing – 1981 BMW R65

In Germany, Touring by AbhiLeave a Comment

The R65 has been one of the less popular Beemers over the last few decades, and I couldn’t really tell you why. Is it the relative lack of power compared to the rest of the BMW family? If having “just” 50 horsepower isn’t a problem for you, this could be a fun runabout for some lightweight touring as it’s equipped with a Pichler fairing in addition to the factory bags.

This bike was recently serviced with “fresh oil and filter change, new o-rings (4) in rear brake actuator shaft (old ones leaked and saturated the brake shoes with oil), fresh final drive oil, and clean carbs with new main jets. Lithium-ion battery 2 years ago that can sit for months without charging. Pictures show painted white pin stripes, I recently covered them with black pin striping tape that I like the look of much better. Box of spare parts, newer front tire, and BMW side cases included.”

It’s a Euro model and it is equipped with a kickstarter as well. Mileage is unknown as it’s on its 3rd speedo but the number is estimated around 40k.
