Catching up on a ride from last month – I went for a quick jaunt with my Ural Neo 500 test bike to the Rock Store – here are some of my favorite bikes that I encountered!
As you can imagine, the Ural gets attention wherever it goes. I’ve been giving rides out to friends (and especially to Ural Gear-Up riders) and the feedback has been highly positive. I’m a big fan of this rig so far.

Here are the bikes that got my attention:
1st generation Suzuki Hayabusa with a Yoshimura exhaust. Based on the livery this is a 2000 model, the last year that the Hayabusa was unrestricted. For the 25th Anniversary model that came out in 2024, Suzuki came up with a great poster that showed off all of the different liveries they’ve used over the years that’s worth a look.

Harley-Davidson Sportster. I’m unable to determine what year it is, but I was amused by the (lack of) size of the front caliper.

A little old and new – a Kawasaki Z1 with Ohlins shocks and a Kawasaki Z900RS with a small fairing. An Ohlins shock comes standard on the new bike if you opt for the Special Edition.

A new Yamaha R7.

Another Ural! This time it’s what they’re calling the “Legacy” model. I spoke with the owner for quite a while and it did not seem like he was a fan of the new model but

An Aprilia SXV – likely a 550 but it might be a 450. We have a crazy custom version for sale over at Iconic which has been turned into a sportbike and has some great upgrades.

Can’t go wrong with a Yamaha RZ350 Kenny Roberts, especially with aftermarket pipes.

The new Ducati Hypermotard 698 RVE, a smaller Hyper with a single-cylinder engine.

My buddy Ron showed up on his ARCH KRGT-1. He also just had it up in Laguna this weekend as ARCH was hosting several owners to check out their racing program in Super Hooligans at the MotoAmerica round that just happened.

I stopped over at the Old Place to meet up with my buddy Mike – I mentioned him and the troubles he’s having with his MV Agusta Superveloce in a recent post, he just bought a Ducati Streetfighter V4 S and loves it. The wings are absurd:

Per usual, there were a lot of fancy cars at the Old Place. One that stood out to me was this Z with a RB26DETT engine swap from a Nissan Skyline:

A Ferrari Testarossa just casually drives on by.

I loved this Lotus but I don’t know the model…do you?

Aermacchi Sprint, probably a 350? What a lovely bike.

On the way home I spotted another legacy Ural so I had to pull over and get a quick photo of it. A little old and new together…
