RSD X Buffalo Chip Moto Stampede – Indian Scout Sixty Custom

In America, Custom, Race by AbhiLeave a Comment

7-11-18 Update: Two months later, Tim Huber notes that this bike is back up for sale with a ~50% discount. Find it here on Craigslist in Sacramento, California for $18,000 (down from the original ask of $35,000).

Built by Roland Sands, this was the very bike he used to compete at the Hooligan Race at the 2017 Buffalo Chip. It was then given away in “as raced” condition as part of a promotion, and it looks like the winner is now getting rid of his prize. The seller mistakenly calls it a FTR1200 (which would be a dream), but this bike actually started as the base Scout, the Scout Sixty.

The Scout Sixty is named after the sixty cubic inches of displacement (983 cc) – from the factory the motor puts out 78 horsepower and 64 pound-feet of torque. This example has been highly customized with several RSD parts, and it has less than 140 miles on it. In the seller’s words, “it is immaculate except for a dent in the tank which happened during the race…this probably adds value rather than detracts.” Do you agree?
