Post-Listing Update: After bidding got up to $44,100, the seller pulled the bike off of eBay.
Even the “base” SFC 750 is a legendary bike, but near the end of production, it got just a little bit better with the Laverda SFC Electronica. It was named for the incorporation of Bosch electronic ignition, but that wasn’t the extent of the modifications.
The Electronica also got a new cylinder head, modified combustion chambers, and an optional high lift cam. A period test yielded a top speed over 135 miles per hour. Just 549 SFCs were built, and the Electronicas were some of the rarest. People with more knowledge than I can quickly identify the bike thanks to a different primary chain cover. This specific Laverda SFC Electronica (VIN: 18300) has a history as a works race bike, piloted by Giuseppe Uberti Foppa, a Works Laverda rider – complete with his signature on the tail. In the early 80s, the bike was apparently restored at Laverda itself and has been kept in great shape. It’s also being offered by a seller I’ve featured before – one that likes to set high reserves for the incredibly fantastic motorcycles they sell. Get ready to open that wallet.
