Post Listing Update: This 888SPO was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown.

With just 390 examples sold between 1993 and 1994, the 888 SPO is a limited production Ducati that doesn’t seem to get as much attention as it probably should. It was street legal, but this bike is happiest on a track. The ’93 model was called the 888 SPO, while the ’94 model was known as the 888LTD or Limited. Ducati’s trademark desmo valve V-Twin was good for 94 horsepower in this application, which yielded a quarter mile time of 10.81 seconds and a top speed of 157 miles per hour. Some days I think this bike actually aged better than the 916, and other days I think that sentence is just stupid. Either way, it ain’t ugly, and this bike had performance to back up the looks – in 1993, it won both the World Superbike and AMA Superbike championships.
