Post Sale Update: This Ducati sold for $9,095 (including the 7% buyer’s fee) on Iconic Motorbike Auctions.

Over on the auction site, we’ve got a beautiful custom Ducati 900SS that was originally built in 2009 to be the personal bike of Donnie Unger (owner of Duc Pond, which became Ducati Winchester). 16 years later, the bike has all of…15 miles on it since the work was done. Buy this and add to that number!

The 900SS is a perennial Bike-urious favorite. Cycle World’s Peter Egan famously called the 900SS “the used motorcycle you need”, praising its rare balance of comfort and capability. He noted that it could be “perfectly comfortable long-distance touring”, yet on winding roads it “metamorphosed back into a sportbike of deep finesse, with killer, real-world midrange and light, intuitive handling.” That duality helped make the Supersport one of Ducati’s most beloved and versatile models, as enjoyable on a weekend ride as it was on a long trip.

This example (VIN: ZDM1LC4M2TB021858) is obviously a bit different than what Peter tested – the engine’s been bored out to 944cc and it features a custom front fairing/headlights, Ohlins shock, UNI air filter, and several carbon fiber bits: clutch cover, timing belt covers, rear fender, and exhaust silencers. The seller states that “since the bike has been in storage for a number of years, it was just was just woken up by Steve Long at Speedwerks in Delaware.”

The work was performed last month and included a carb clean/sync, new electric fuel pump, new battery, a chassis/body detail, and a dyno run:
