Ever wanted the looks of Ducati’s beautiful 916 but with a much, much tinier engine? Here’s your chance, thanks to the rare-in-the-US Cagiva Mito 125.

Originally introduced in 1989, the Mito was redesigned in ’94 by Massimo Tamburini. That revamp was called the Mito Evolution and it shared several features with another in-house product at the time – the iconic Ducati 916. 1999 brought a further update called the Evolution II – this primarily differed in the transmission (6 speeds versus 7 in the previous model) and wheels (six spokes versus three). The 125cc 2-stroke engine put out just shy of 30 horsepower when derestricted, and despite the diminutive size this bike featured big-bike components like Brembo brakes, USD Marzocchi forks, steering damper, an asymmetrical alloy swingarm, and aluminum frame. Impressively, the dry weight was just 276 pounds.

This example was originally sold in Japan and eventually was imported here to the US. It is offered with a Delaware title and a copy of the Japanese title/import paperwork. This example has an extra set of factory decals, the OEM turn signals, OEM exhaust, and Tyga full exhaust. Issue include leaking fork seals, aged out tires, and a cloudy windscreen. It has 8,386 miles (13,496 km on the odometer).
