Press Release – Triumph Announces The Speed Twin 1200 TFC

Back in 2019, Triumph created the TFC (Triumph Factory Custom) line, a limited run of most (if not all) of their motorcycles at the time with extra special components and a dash of exclusivity as they were limited to 750 units each. Seven years later, they’re bringing it back for the Speed Twin 1200!

I actually just filmed a podcast episode with my friends over at RevZilla talking about motorcycles as investments and the TFC line briefly came up because I was surprised about how poorly the bikes were holding their value. Models like the Rocket TFC and Bonneville Bobber TFC dropped in value pretty quickly, though the Thruxton did alright. Spurgeon and Zack were surprised to hear that because the Thruxton was one of their least favorite models in the line-up. But Zack mentioned that he loved the Speed Twin 1200, so it’s interesting to see that Triumph is bringing back the TFC treatment for that specific model!

Like before, Triumph is making just 750 examples. And also like before, there’s a big price jump – a base Speed Twin 1200 starts at $15,395, while the fancier RS version starts at $17,195. The TFC? $21,995. Upgrades include the black/gold livery, Akrapovic titanium exhaust, leather seat, carbon fiber fenders/heel guards/sidecovers, Brembo Stylema calipers, and fully adjustable Ohlins forks (the RS version already gets the Ohlins shocks). In addition, the top triple is billent aluminum and it notes the production number.

Triumph’s Chief Marketing Officer (Nick Bell) says, “The Speed Twin has always been admired for the way it blends timeless style, character and capability. With the TFC, we’ve pushed those qualities even further and the result is a motorcycle that feels even more dynamic, more exclusive and more rewarding to own and ride.”

So, what do you say? Does this tickle your fancy, or no?
