In 2004, Honda updated their legendary CBR-RR range with the 1000, an all-new model featuring an aluminum twin-spar frame, hybrid aluminum swingarm, and an Electronic Steering Damper. There were some interesting liveries over the years (like the Repsol Edition that was introduced in 2005), and in 2006 they offered a blue/yellow livery that was only offered that one year.

Inside the MotoGP-derived frame was an all-new liquid-cooled, 998cc, four-stroke, DOHC (16-valve), inline-four with dual-stage fuel injection and two-stage ram air regulated via a 32-bit ECU. The 1000RR’s engine was good for a claimed 172hp and 85ft-lbs of torque, translating to a sub-three-second (2.7) 0-60mph time, and a top speed of over 175mph. But I’d say this bike stands out due to the mileage and the cosmetics: officially, this paint job was called Phoenix Blue, but X-Men fans will appreciate that the livery has also become known as the “Wolverine.”

This example (VIN: JH2SC57096M203335) has just 569 miles. Per the seller, “The bike was a garage find that sat for 20 years, after an older gentleman purchased it new in St. Augustine, Florida. When he arrived home, his wife told him that he could not ride it, so it was parked in the garage, where it sat for 20 years. I purchased the bike from that gentleman, after his wife passed, he decided to sell the bike. The bike did not run when I purchased it. I replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump, including pump assembly, cleaned all fuel lines, injectors, replaced spark plugs, new battery, oil, filter, coolant, and brake fluid before ever trying to start the bike.” Based on the other bikes in his garage, I think it’s fair to say he’s a Honda fan!
