46 Years of Hondas

In Dual-Sport, Japan by Abhi13 Comments

A seller is offering Hondas built between 1959 and 2005 – including standards, cruisers, and dirt bikes. My pick of the litter? The 1988 Honda NX250 in rare factory red.

The other bikes include a 2005 Honda VTX1300C, 2005 Honda C100, 1994 Honda XR250R, and a 1959 Honda CA102. There’s even a rare Kawasaki KLX650R if you’re into that, too.

But more on the NX250, one of the best small dual-sports of all time. The 250cc engine was a water-cooled DOHC unit that produced 26 horsepower. It has a 6 speed transmission, electric starter, and ~70 mpg – this bike was ahead of its time. For more on what made this bike great, check out ADVPulse, who note that this 25+ year old 250cc gives basically the same performance as a current-generation Kawasaki KLR650.
