50th Anniversary Livery – 2008 Yamaha FZ1

With a retuned drivetrain from the legendary R1, Yamaha’s FZ1 was a sleeper of a bike. 150 horsepower with all-day riding ergonomics made for an ideal sport touring mount. This example stands out because of the special Yamaha paint job and some truly excellent modifications.

In addition to the 150 horses, basic specifications of the ’08 FZ1 were a dry weight of 439 pounds and 41 mpg of fuel economy. MCN called it “one of the best premium, sporty all round motorcycles you can buy.”

This example is stocked with fantastic modifications including Ohlins forks, an Ohlins shock, the upgraded brakes from a R1, Ivan’s Performance Products ECU flash and butterfly valves, Corbin passenger seat with backrest, Yoshimura full exhaust, Power Commander 3 computer, Power Commander quickshifter, ASV levers, Rizoma handlebars, aftermarket gear indicator, a GPS mount, and more. This isn’t the sexiest bike I’ve ever featured but I do think it would make an excellent mile-eater for those of you that like to only take your classics out on shorter rides.
