Post Sale Update: This RC51 sold for $7,169 on IMA in Marina del Rey, California.

This one’s a big one for us – Honda has chosen to partner with Iconic Motorbike Auctions Powered by Bike-urious to auction off two motorcycles in support of Ride for Kids and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Did you see my photos from Ride for Kids last weekend?

The first bike is a Honda RC51 with just one mile on the odometer. But what really gets your attention is the Jurassic Park III bodywork. Back in 2001, Honda announced a marketing partnership with Universal Studios, and it led to some interesting co-branding on some of Honda’s race bikes. Nicky Hayden’s RC51 at Laguna Seca and Ezra Lusk’s CR250R at Red Bud were both adorned in this JPIII livery.

Honda understandably wanted to show these off at marketing events around the country, but the race bikes were busy competing so Honda took a new stock RC51 and gave it an identical Jurassic Park III livery for promotional purposes – that’s the machine you’re currently looking at! It’s been at Honda’s headquarters for the last several years and is currently offered on a bill of sale.
