Ducati’s 916 range is one of the most iconic model lineups of all time. From its release, the bikes were met with near unanimous praise for their performance and drop dead gorgeous design. The Bologna brand offered full (916) and mid-sized variants of the superbike, with the smaller displacement model being the 748. The 748 debuted in ’94 and remained in production until the end of 2002 when the three-quarter-liter model was replaced by the less popular 749.

Over its years of production, Ducati released a myriad of different 748 models such as the R, S, and SPS-specs. These models offered more power and higher-spec running gear for riders looking for a little more oomph. Instead of opting to shell out the extra doe for a more high-end variant, some owners decided to upgrade the machines themselves, some of whom installed big-bore kits.

This particular 1998 748 example sports a Fast By Ferracci 890 big bore kit that now reportedly affords the Italian two-wheeler a cool 100 hp at the rear wheel (according to the seller). Further complimenting the new 890 kit is a Fast By Ferracci full carbon fiber 50mm race exhaust (and Power Commander).

The seller claims on top of the Fast by Ferracci hardware, this Duc features another $3K worth of upgrades such as Showa forks with Ohlins internals off a 999 (tuned and redone by Ken from Superbike Italia), Brembo four-pot brakes (also from a 999), STM slipper clutch, Oberon clutch slave cylinder and braided lines throughout, 996 oil cooler, aftermarket levers and pegs, and a new battery, chain, and tires.

While this example does have 14,400 miles on the clock, it’s said to be in stellar mechanical condition. Though the seller says this bike was never raced or dropped, it does have a few minor cosmetic imperfections, and the price reflects the damage. The current owner says the valves were adjusted less than 1k miles ago, around the same time the oil pressure sensor and fuel pump lines were replaced.

Though this isn’t a showroom clean bike, it is an amazingly well equipped specimen. Making matters even sweeter is the fact the asking price for this example is crazy reasonable. If you’ve ever wanted to own a unique classic Ducati superbike, they don’t come much better than this…at least for this kinda money.
