Last month, I shared that BikeEXIF, Velomacchi, and REV’IT were hosting a photo contest and that Nathan had been selected as one of the finalists. Well, they’ve announced the winners and I’m excited to share that Nathan was one of them!
1998 Honda Z50R
Introduced in 1979, Honda’s Z50R was built in response to a market that was looking to take mini trail bikes on to the track. Here’s one of the last examples, as Honda would replace the model in 2000 with the XR50R. Over a 20 year production run, Honda sold over 500,000 units.
Giveaway – Win Free Dunlop Tires from Upshift Online
Upshift is one of the best online motorcycle magazines around, and it’s extra easy to recommend considering it’s free for readers. Even better, they’ve just partnered with Dunlop to give away a free set of tires and some other goodies to one lucky winner – all you have to do is fill out a ~5 minute survey.
OHV Bullet – 1943 Royal Enfield WD/CO 350
In 1851, George Townsend would launch a business in Redditch, England that produced sewing needles. Some three decades later, Townsend’s son – also named George – would begin producing bicycle parts. By the mid-1880’s the company was producing complete bicycles sold under the brand name “Townsend and Ecossais”. After the business suffered a financial collapse in 1891, Townsend’s bankers selected …

View PostMany Upgrades, Few Miles – 2000 Ducati 996
The Ducati 996 was the Italian marque’s flagship super bike from from 1999-2002, replacing the legendary 916 before eventually being replaced by the 998. Aside from the raw performance and sexy Tamburini-designed aesthetics, many love these bikes as they were the last all-mechanical Ducati’s, possessing no electronic riding aids – not including the fuel-injection. Like Ducati’s offerings from today, the …

View PostRestored Matching Numbers Classic – 1967 BMW R69S
BMW’s R69S is one of its most beloved models of all time, and when it was first released it was a fairly groundbreaking sport bike. The S-version would remain BMW’s flagship sport bike throughout the 1960’s, during …
Limited Edition – 1976 Honda Gold Wing GL1000 LTD
Post Listing Update: This Gold Wing was pulled off of eBay due to “an error in the listing.” I assume the seller got an offer that he/she liked, final sale price unknown. In just the second year of production, Honda decided to release a limited edition of its instant classic Gold Wing for the American market. It was said to …
Doubled Displacement – DT100-Powered 1988 Yamaha YSR50
Produced from ’87 to ’92, Yamaha’s YSR50 was a mini sport bike that offered many amenities typically reserved for larger displacement models. Because of this, the full-faired 50cc scoot frequently had its engine swapped-out for something more powerful as the bike’s stock sub-40mph top-speed really left something to be desired. This particular example has had a 100cc Yamaha enduro engine …
What Do You Want To Know? 2018 Kawasaki Z900RS
UPDATE: Here’s my First Ride review! I don’t often share news about bikes before they’re released, but as Kawasaki started dropping hints about the upcoming Z900RS I had to tell you about it because I know how many of you love the Z1 that inspires this new model. I’m attending the launch of the Z900RS later this week – is …

View PostUnexpected Custom – 1987 Yamaha SDR200
Post Sale Update: After 36 bids on eBay, this SDR200 sold for $2,925. Originally built just for the Japanese market, the SDR200 was a small cafe racer that predated the Ducati Monster with a trellis frame, naked styling, and the three-spoke wheels. It was only offered for one year, and a tiny amount of them found their way in to …
Trackmaster Frame – 1967 Triumph T120TT
Post Listing Update: Despite 9 bids on eBay up to $9,900, this Trackmaster-framed Triumph did not meet reserve. This interesting custom blends a Trackmaster frame with a ’67 Triumph T120TT motor. It’s a little over the top in certain aspects, but not in mileage – it’s only had 100 miles put on since it was built as it has spent …
Ex-Steve Williams TT F1 – 1988 Bimota YB4-R
